What happened? (1956)

What has happened to my career? I haven't had a movie role in 2 years and still no offers...... I'm still determined and I'm sure I'll find something soon. Meanwhile, I'll sit and reminisce on my music.

I've recently appeared on the cover of LIFE magazine. The did a story on my recent film, Carmen Jones. Everything is going so great for me right now.

After the latest film that I starred in, Carmen Jones, I have been nominated for an Academy Award for best actress. This is a great honor, and I am proud and excited to be nominated for this prestigious award. Win or lose I'm at an all time high so far in my career. Thank you!

New Edition (Sep. 10, 1943)

On September 2, I gave birth to my first child, Harolyn. She is so beautiful and a joy to have. I am so happy to have given birth to a beautiful baby girl.

The Wonder Kids (1927)

Vivian and I have began touring churches in the southern states still as The Wonder Kids. Before we only toured within Tennessee, but once mother came to Nashville she arranged with the National Baptist Convention and now we're going to parts of different states each month. We are receiving several hundred dollars as our salary. We both became the best-dressed little girls in the country. We know there's more to come.
